Thing #21 - Meebo

I have been using meebo for about a year now because it allows me to consolidate my chat contacts through a single login/interface (some of my friends/colleagues are on MSN and others are on GoogleTalk). Also, I can login anywhere without having to download any software. The "MeeboMe" widgets have come in handy too (like the one in the left column of this blog). At a previous work place I installed a widget like this onto our intranet site to allow my colleagues and staff to ask me questions, and it was well used. Last night I used a meebo widget on the Danbury Library's "Ask a Librarian" page to chat with them about the tagging feature in their OPAC.
